Abstract

The study examines the importance of transparency and accountability in Mexican public administration, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring legitimacy, effectiveness, and trust in governmental institutions. Despite legislative advances and recent reforms, significant challenges persist that hinder their effectiveness, including a deep-seated culture of opacity, widespread corruption, and deficiencies in law enforcement mechanisms. To address these issues, a methodology combining qualitative and quantitative approaches is proposed, including literature review and quantitative data collection through surveys. This comprehensive approach will provide a deep understanding of the current state of transparency and accountability in Mexico, identify areas for improvement, and formulate concrete recommendations to strengthen democratic governance and promote sustainable development.
