Market diversification strategies Mexico - Slovakia: an analysis from the perspective of geopolitics and sustainable development.

Abstract

This article analyzes the potential for trade diversification between Mexico and Slovakia, with a focus on the automotive and agro-industrial sectors, under a sustainable development approach. Based on a geopolitical and economic analysis, the study identifies Slovakia’s strategic strengths within the European Union and contrasts them with Mexico’s productive and export capacities. It is proposed that both countries have high cooperation potential in the automotive sector through technology transfer, co-investment, and the joint development of sustainable solutions. In the agro-industrial sector, the research reveals underexplored opportunities to expand the presence of Mexican products in the European market, provided that sanitary, phytosanitary, and traceability requirements are met. The study also considers the regulatory impact of the USMCA and warns of potential commercial implications if established frameworks are not respected. In conclusion, Mexico-Slovakia cooperation could become a strategic pathway for integrating sustainable supply chains between North America and Central Europe.
